The piece
The base is a terracotta flowerpot, the kind thrown away once it chips. The mosaic gives it a second life.
The tesserae come from broken plates and tiles: blue-and-white patterned china, turquoise, green, solid yellows. The rim is finished with yellow pieces, and the dark grout sets each one apart.
Good for flowers, for brushes, or as a catch-all. Turn it and every side shows a different pattern.

How to care for it
Wash by handWarm water and mild soap. No dishwasher: hand-mixed glazes don’t take hot cycles.

Mind the edgesGlaze and tesserae chip if knocked. A felt pad under the base prevents scratches.
